Highlights in Parker Hill’s History
1853 – The first meeting is held in the home of Stephen Parker, which is adjacent to the current Clarks Summit Campus on Abington Road.
1875 – A building is constructed on Abington Road in Clarks Green, less than a mile south of our current Clarks Summit Campus.
1896 – The Clarks Green church starts a church in Clarks Summit and a building is constructed on North State Street, Clarks Summit, in 1898.
1965 – These two churches merge and build a facility on Noble Road, Clarks Summit.
1980 – The Noble Road building is sold and a new facility constructed on Abington Road.
1988 – The church adapts a multiple-service approach to accommodate growth.
1994 – A new auditorium is constructed and the existing building is remodeled into classrooms and offices.
1999 – The church takes on the name Parker Hill Community Church.
2004 – Parker Hill adopts Faith Community Church, Glenburn, the facility is remodeled, and additional services are held there for five years.
2006 – A multi-site strategy for reaching the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania is launched.
2008 – A temporary campus is added at Park Center in Dickson City, and services are held there for 15 months.
2009 – Expansion and renovation of the Clarks Summit Campus is completed.
2009 – Parker Hill purchases the former Endless Mountains Theatre in Dickson City and renovates it to become the permanent Dickson City Campus.
