New Life in New Places
The Vision
Launched in November 2006, New Life in New Places has facilitated Parker Hill’s commitment to multi-site ministry. We anticipate having a presence in many communities in Northeast Pennsylvania, so that thousands of people are within a reasonable driving distance of a Parker Hill campus. Because we are passionate about helping people find the way back to God, we are creating new places where people can pursue intimacy with God, live in community with other believers, and contribute to the mission of the church.
The Projects
Dickson City Campus
In January, 2009, Parker Hill purchased and renovated a large building at 933 Scranton Carbondale Highway in Dickson City. The campus was opened on December 19-20, 2009. The facility includes a 500-seat adult worship area, as well as four smaller meeting rooms for adults. Student Ministries (middle school and high school) occupy spaces uniquely designed for them. Age-specific, creative ministry areas have been included for children. The building also houses the church offices.
Clarks Summit Campus
Since September, 2009, we have been thoroughly enjoying our expanded and renovated facilities on Abington Road. Over 13,500 square feet was added, including space for 550 seats in the auditorium. The lobby space is much more expansive, and a cafe has been created. Larger and more effective space has also been designed for children and adult ministries.
The Reality
New Life in New Places is not just about buildings. It is about God and about people who worship God in these buildings. He has allowed our church the opportunity to invest in people for 156 years. Recently we have experienced unparalleled growth in attendance, but more importantly, in spiritual commitment. We are excited about what God is doing! He is providing new life to many people, and we are celebrating this as we worship and serve together.
