Last night at High School Gathering, we made the sad announcement that Kristin McGuinness will be moving this week to California. It is always hard to see a friend move away. We are filled with mixed emotions - sorrow over losing such a fantastic friend and volunteer*, but excitement for Kristin as she pursues what God has for her. A world traveler (she has been to Africa, England, France, Israel, Australia, Singapore, and Japan, but never to Canada), Kristin knows that the God who has been with her in Scranton will also be with her in California.

Kristin led her small group of girls from their 6th grade through 8th grade years. She has been a committed leader and will be greatly missed by both students and the family ministries team. I have always appreciated the way Kristin leads others to follow Christ by example, with a smile and sincere enthusiasm. We look forward to hearing stories of Kristin’s adventures as she transitions to a new chapter in life.

*We are always looking for dedicated small group leaders like Kristin for students. You don’t need a special degree or prior experience to be qualified - just a love for students and a desire to see them grow to be more like Christ.
