Posted on Aug 26, 2009 by jason.castelli

This Sunday we’re taking a break from our normal programming in order to take advantage of Campus Life’s Summers End Escape. On Sunday evening, and over the next week a majority of the schools in Lackawanna County will have party to kick off the school year and start planning on how our students can have a God impact at their schools!

Check out the attachment for details and directions to these parties!

You are invited to attend the party for your school group!  There are a few school’s that will meet during the week of September 1st-4th,  so be sure to look over the information carefully!

i went to visit a friend of mine yesterday to help facilitate a discussion between he and a few other pastors, a school principal, and a businessman.  while i was there he gave me a book.  i opened up the book this morning to chapter 10 (yes i sometimes start in the middle of a book::don’t ask)  to have a look at it and this was the first thing i saw.24289437-b71f8ad8d134b7517366ecaa58936f4b4a8bf4ee-scaled

there were a lot of thoughts that went through my head like…am i supposed to go to someone else’s church and steal some chairs or a microphone or something?!?!    or maybe they were doing one of those psychological switcheroos.  like by telling me to go to a church and steal something that maybe i wouldn’t do it.  i was confused for a bit.  i was trying to decide whether or not to call the police and report the authors of the book when i decided to look at the cover of the book more closely.  the book is called simply strategic stuffdownsized_0819090845 it took a second, but then it hit me…the stuff is strategy not chairs and microphones.  after i got over the initial shock of my great revalation…something hit me.  sometimes i look at GOD like i look at this book.  i see what GOD does or says and i don’t get it.  like… am i litterally supposed to pluck out my eye.  i think i’m supposed to go do something crazy or be something other than who GOD created me to be.  the reality is…just like this book…we need to know GOD’s heart better in order to understand the “chapter 10’s” of what he is telling us.  here’s an easy way to get started in understanding who GOD is and what is important to him.  check out Matthew 22:36-40.

muse is my muse…

muse1-b-p8225541so i’m sitting here thinking about how excited i am to go home and listen to my new cd that my wife got me for my birthday (that’s right…not only do i still get cd’s, but i’m also 27).  the cd is a live concert recording by a band named muse.  i like muse a lot…not because i identify with the lyrics or because the music moves me to tears.  the reason i like muse so much is because they took music to the next level.  not brit rock to the next level…they took music to the next level.  they did something that has never been done before and made it awesome.  music as a whole will never be the same because of the small things that they have done.

i got a few other gifts that too.  as i sit here typing this i am wearing my new t-shirt that i got for my birthday.  it’s a simple shirt.  it doesn’t have the flash and bang of a band like muse.  it doesn’t attract thousands and thousands of people to huge arenas.  it’s pretty simple.  it’s a plain black t-shirt with white letters…two words…but it has a powerful message. invisible-children the people that made this t-shirt just wanted to raise some awareness in a simple way, but they ended up changing history.  everyone has the power to change something.  we might not change the world, but we can change the way someone looks at the rest of their day.  we can change the way someone looks at friendship.  we can change the way someone looks at our faith.  we can change history.  what in your world needs changing?  GO DO IT!!!
